The Huskee Story
Huskee has its origins in the coffee growing regions of Yunnan, China. Saxon Wright, a co-founder with a specialty coffee roasting business in Sydney, Australia, collaborated with Yunnan farmers to enhance quality and sustainability, aiming to reduce waste. One of the key objectives was to reduce waste and one of the byproducts of processing the coffee beans is husk.
As the idea developed, the concept evolved to turn the usually wasted husk into a unique, reusable and sustainable cup that would durable enough stand the test of time and the rigours of daily use. With these key sustainable principles leading the way, the original HuskeeCup was born in 2017.
Huskee's astute eco-conscious approach, combined with innovative design concepts, has helped to make their cups popular among coffee lovers all over the world, acting as a springboard for two more ranges, HuskeeRenew and HuskeeSteel, both with sustainability and quality at heart.
All Huskee products are durable, versatile and eye-catching, and they can be bought with universal lids for when you’re out and about, or classic saucers for use at home. Better still, At the end of a Huskee product’s long life, they can be returned to us and we'll make sure they get recycled into new Huskee products - thus creating the ultimate closed-loop ecosystem, HuskeeLoop!
About HuskeeLoop
HuskeeLoop is a product stewardship programme prioritising sustainability, by taking end-of-life products and ensuring they get recycled. This innovative take on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is motivated by Huskee’s core values and dedication to creating a circular economy. The goal is to have 90% of products easily returned and collected in order to be transformed into the material used to design amazing new Huskee products.
This programme is made possible thanks to the eco-composite polymer that each product is built from. This unique material allows Huskee to refine and repurpose their old products using standard industry equipment and parameters.
